Unpleasant experience
We recently dined with friends at the Coalgate Tavern. After collecting our meals at the kitchen slide my hubby asked could we help ourselves to veges in the Bain Marie, the answer was yes. I added 2 small pieces of cauliflower to my meal, on sitting down we were approached by a very severe looking gentleman who admonished me severely and loudly for helping myself to vegetables I was not entitled to. We were gobsmacked at his attitude over 2 small pieces of cauliflower and despite my dumbfounded apology He continued to glower around the corner at us like we were criminals while we ate. We left without ordering desserts or coffees we had spent over $100 on meals and drinks already. On leaving we mentioned our unpleasant encounter to staff who were outside only to be attacked again by an over aggressive female. We are all respectable senior citizens and felt this aggressive encounter by two staff members was way over the top, I suggest they attend a hospitality PR course on how to treat customers. We certainly will not be returning
