The Brown Pub, METHVEN, Canterbury

As you pull into Methven Mt Hutt Village and stand at the cross roads of the two main streets (one fittingly named Main Street!) you'll see two pubs on opposite corners. One of them is Blue, one of them is Brown. Ours is the Brown one.The catch phrase "your true country pub" is very apt as this is indeed a classic New Zealand country pub. Warm in atmosphere and welcome, you will feel right at home from the minute you walk in the door.
