Great stopover for a top meal and drink
You've just driven one of the best scenic roads in New Zealand and now need a place to relax after a long drive, so why not do it with a drink in your hand and a plate in front of you.

Charleston Tavern has got everything you need for a nice break and to relax.

Underwhelming meal here

We stopped in here for a meal on our way through the West Coast .... the service was very friendl ybut our meals weren't that great ... my partner had the 'Ribeye Steak' but it wasn't MR as requested, instead more M.
The 3 x salads that came with the meal were coleslaw (which was drenched in mayo) - lettuce salad which was just that - letttuce ... no tomato, cucumber etc + cannaloni salad which i presume was just out of a tin ... it had no flavour & wasn't nice so we went away disappointed ... the meals took a long time to arrive - maybe on the busy nights (Friday / Sat) they put someone else in the kitchen to help the one person that was cooking.
